ABOUT US

Our theater troupe was been selected, out of hundreds who applied from across the country, to perform at the world’s largest performing arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.  We were the only student group from New York state chosen to perform in 2018.

Our population lives in high poverty.  We are incredibly frugal, purchasing fabric to make the majority of our costumes.  In addition to poverty, our troupe members have had to overcome having parents in jail, homelessness, and raising younger siblings.  One of our performers was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and it is her greatest desire to attend and perform at the Fringe.

In August of 2018 our troupe embarked on the performance opportunity of a lifetime.  Performing internationally, our company gained valuable skills as actors, technicians and marketers, and developed a deeper understanding of the arts and the vital role they play in education and the larger world.  We brought an original musical written by our troupe about the life of Emily Warren Roebling, the woman who helped engineer and complete the Brooklyn Bridge. This show allowed us to share our talents as performers and, more importantly, educate people about a pioneering female figure in the history of New York.

We are deeply grateful to you for your ongoing support.  Community efforts to provide quality arts education to our kids helps us ensure that the next generation of our performers, professionals, and citizens are compassionate and globally aware.  Many thanks in advance for your urgently needed sponsorship!
